CHALLENGE
Our client was living a nightmare with poorly installed windows that were not only drafty but leaked badly during rain storms, requiring them to place buckets under their large living room windows to catch rain during heavy downpours.
The windows were only about five years old but had been improperly installed, lacking the flashing necessary to create an effective seal. Their kitchen windows were also inoperable and not able to be opened.
Due to the extent of the damage we were prepared to repair and/or replace parts of the window structures to ensure a proper fit for the replacement windows.
SOLUTION
Our client chose to replace their leaking living room windows with a modern Alside Mezzo® Energy-Efficient vinyl window system. Three large, fixed picture windows were chosen to replace the existing single-hung windows for the living room, allowing better sightlines to the backyard pool.
The kitchen windows were replaced with single-hung windows, also from the Alside Mezzo® collection. The white vinyl frames are easily opened and closed to circulate air during cooler days, or to vent smells from the occasional burned dinner.

RESULTS

We replaced the stools on each window, along with damaged sheetrock around the interior windows.
